What is a Customer Record Credit?
A customer record can also be considered a customers profile consisting of a unique email address and phone number associated with a partial or a sale.
How are Customer Record Credits Measured?
A customer record credit covers the following actions for the life of that customer profile within the DataShuttle system.
- Importing the customer profile and associated fields such as name, customer number.. etc to DataShuttle
- Monitoring customer status and executing rules to move a customer between different integrated partners
Once a customer record has been imported there is no additional cost for sending that record to any of our other integrations. Unlike other systems that charge based on tasks we essentially provide unlimited tasks and data migration for each customer record we import.
Examples:
Customer Abandons Cart (Scenario 1)
This scenario uses 1 customer record credit.
- DataShuttle validates the email address and determines it is acceptable to send to the marketing automation platform
- Data Validations are provided as a paid add on.
- DataShuttle pushes the name, phone number and unique customer tracking ID as a customer record to the email marketing platform of choice and adds that contact to the card abandon list and workflow. Emails sequence begins
- At the same time DataShuttle sends that same customer record to the SMS automation platform of your choice. SMS sequence begins
- Customer places an order for the product afrom one of the email automation messages.
- DataShuttle removes the contact from the "cart abandon list" at both the email automation platform and the SMS automation platform and moves the contact to the "customer list" to start the post purchase workflow on both systems.
- Once that customers order ships DataShuttle will then send the customer order details to a proactive shipment tracking platform so you're operations team can monitor the success of fulfillment and trigger follow up emails on delivery status.
What Happens When I Exceed My Plan's Limit
Each plan comes with a set number of customer records which are measured per month for monthly plans or per year for annual plans.
When your customer record credits limit is reached we provide two options.
- Upgrade to Next Plan
- Pay Per 1,000 Customer Records Overage
- Pause all Campaigns Until Plan Renews
These options can be viewed in the billing section of DataShuttle.
Upgrade to Next Plan
For this option we will automatically upgrade you to the next higher tiered plan. This option is best when moving from a lower plan like Starter to Pro
Pay Per 1,000 Customer Records Overage
For this option we will pro-rate the price per 1,000 customer records that you're paying for in the particular plan that you are currently in and charge you the that amount in blocks of 1,000 customer record transfers.
Pay Per 1,000 Customer Records Examples:
- Starter Plan: $49.99 includes 4,000 customer records. Additional contacts would be charged at $12.50 per 1,000 customer records.
- Pro Plan: $99.99 includes 10,000 customer records. Additional contacts would be charged at $10.00 per 1,000 customer records.
- Enterprise I: $149.99 includes 20,000 customer records. Additional contacts would be charged at $7.50 per 1,000 customer records.
- Enterprise II: $299.99 includes 50,000 customer records. Additional contacts would be charged at $6.00 per 1,000 customer records.
Pause all Campaigns Until Plan Renews
This option will pause your campaign until the plan renews in the next billing period.

A data source is either a CRM/Ecommerce platform or a marketing automation platform
Sync Time
Sync time or synchronization time is a measurement of how often we will attempt to check for new customer records and/or push data.
Data Retention
We will hold the history of all records that we have transferred for a period of 6 months, 24 months or 36 months depending on the plan you're on.
